Overview & Challenge
Onmo is a UK-based credit card provider.
During my time there, I worked across customer-facing and internal products, from redesigning how we introduced Onmo to new customers to improving how people understood their spending in the app.
My work covered research, UX, UI and interaction design, with a focus on making the experience clearer and creating more consistency across the product.
Projects
Landing Experience
As Onmo's proposition and brand evolved, we revisited the landing experience to give potential customers a clearer understanding of the product and a stronger route into the application journey.
I explored the market and competitor landscape, worked through different content and page structures, and tested brand-led and app-led directions with users.
Testing helped us simplify the experience, strengthen the Onmo proposition and make checking eligibility a clearer next step.
Insights
Insights was designed to help customers better understand where their money was going across different periods of time.
Building on feedback from earlier testing, I benchmarked products including Monzo, Revolut and Chase, explored different ways of presenting spending categories and worked with our data analyst to understand the categories most relevant to customers.
The resulting experience supported weekly, monthly and yearly views, with clearer category breakdowns and space for more actionable financial insights in future releases.
Motion Library
As the new Onmo app developed, I noticed similar interactions were sometimes behaving differently across prototypes.
I audited the motion being used throughout the app and created a shared Motion Library covering transitions, loading states, animations and component states.
Rather than treating motion as decoration, the library focused on feedback, continuity and helping users understand what was happening.
Each pattern was documented in Figma with its behaviour, properties and flow, giving designers and developers a shared reference as the product evolved.
OHNO - Internal case management systen
Alongside the customer experience, I also worked on an early internal product aimed at improving how Onmo's Operations team managed their work.
I spoke directly with the Case Management team to understand their existing workflows and the problems created by working across multiple tools.
Those conversations helped us narrow a much broader idea into a more focused case-management MVP and design around the realities of how the team actually worked.
Development was ultimately paused, but the research and design work helped inform improvements to the team's existing processes.
The Outcome
My time at Onmo gave me the opportunity to work across very different parts of the same product ecosystem — from attracting new customers, to helping them understand their finances, to improving the systems and patterns supporting the wider experience.
Across the work, the common focus was making complex information and interactions clearer, more consistent and easier to use.
